2026 Hiawatha Heritage Dog Sled Race takes place Jan 31- Feb 1st so make plans accordingly. 
After our inaugural race in 2025, from mushers interviewed, they have never had such a wonderful race experience. From the picturesque surroundings, a superbly groomed “superhighway” course with its many twists and turns, no roads or railroad track to cross, it was both a safe and enjoyable experience. The food was phenomenal, the people truly welcoming, and fans cheering them on from multiple course sites was encouraging and exciting for mushers and dogs alike. We are planning to make 2026 an even more challenging and exciting opportunity for all so please join us.

2026 Hiawatha Heritage Dog Sled Race Registration
 Registration website https://www.hiawathaclub.com/ opens at 6:00pm EST, Sunday November 16th, 2025! Participation is limited and on a "First come, first served" basis.

Select a Race
Select the race you would like to participate in and complete the registration and payment process. At the end of the registration, you will be asked for additional information about you as a musher and your team. We will use this information, and an action photo of you, to create a Musher’s Profile, to help build your race recognition and fanbase via our websites and social media. By providing us this information your are also giving us permission to use for the stated purpose. You must register each race entrant one at a time to allow us to capture the musher information for each registration.

2026 Hiawatha Heritage Dog Sled Race
For 2026 we are featuring three races, HHDSR 80 Professional, HHDSR 30 Intermediate and HHDSR 3 Youth.  All races start and finish at the Hiawatha Sportsman’s Club Activities Complex.
  1. HHDSR 80 Professional will be an 8-dog, 80-mile overnight endurance race run in two segments.  Teams will run same 40-mile loop twice for total of 80 miles. First segment will be run on Saturday evening starting at 7:00pm as a night race and the final segment on Sunday morning departing at 7:00am. Teams will overnight at the Hiawatha Sportsman’s Club Activities Complex and the Activities Building will remain open all night as a Mushers warming center.  Race Fee is $275.00
  2. HHDSR 30 Intermediate will be a 6-dog, 30-mile daytime race following last year’s course and depart starting at 9:00am.  Race Fee is $200.00
  3. HHDSR 3 is a 3-Dog race competing across a 3-mile trail with the ability to participate even if you show up with only two dogs. Race will start at 1:00pm Saturday Jan 31. Open to mushers 12 and younger and a Guardian may accompany. Race is Free of Charge to build Youth engagement in the sport!
 
Entry / Refunds / Registration Waitlist

Complete the entry form on the website https://www.hiawathaclub.com/  after 6:00 PM, November 16, 2025.
No entry accepted after 11:59 PM, December 15, 2025.
Refunds are typically issued within two weeks of notification to withdraw up to Jan 15, 2026. Withdrawals after Jan 15, 2026 will be at 50% of deposit.
Registration is Limited to 25 Teams per Race. A waitlist will be created for all entries beyond the first 25.
