Museum Area Trails

The historic hiking trails near the HSC Museum can be a fun way to spend the day, and learn about the Club's History.

A great starting point will be the Museum, where the beginning of the Restored Walkway is located.  It was originally a walkway for members and their guests to get from Manitou Lodge to the Mudjekeewis Dining Hall.  This walkway was restored in 1997 by Mary & Bill Yost and Family.  In 2004, Amy Douglas, DNR Forester, and Betty Ann Glascock identified and marked the tree species along the path.

The map identifies several locations along the way to look for, including the pump house that supplied water to the Lodge and the Dining Hall, and the Delco Electric Plant that supplied the electricity to both buildings.  Be sure to walk the foot trail to the Original #1 Tee of the golf couse.  This trail was mainly used by golfing members who ate at the Dining Hall.
