Trails

Well hello! Welcome to G trail, the beginning of your adventure in the Hiawatha Sportsman’s Club!

Enter our historic gate from US Highway 2 west of Naubinway, Michigan, and quickly find yourself surrounded by the beauty of our wilderness experience.

The winding trail will soon present you with a quick view of our lovely golf course, and just a bit further, you’ll arrive at our Pro Shop.

If history or inspiring vistas interest you, head a bit west from G Trail on the drive to our Heritage Center. There you will find our Museum, historic buildings, and our spectacular view of beautiful Lake Michigan.

Your experience in the Club has just begun. Just ahead there is a lovely lookout point for viewing memorable sunsets, along with hiking trails, quiet lakes, and spring fed trout streams. Don’t get lost, you will need a key to get out.

Members enjoy cruising many miles of trails like these throughout our 35,000 acre wilderness. HSC maintains many miles of roads and trails, including designated ORV trails, pure hiking trails, and quiet Woods Roads to explore.

While travelling the trails you may find yourself at one of the 22 identified Logging Camp sites that were established on our Club from 1860 through 1920. Imagine how life might have been for these intrepid pioneers.

We invite members to find adventure in trail cruising, self-guided hikes, ATV rides, Scavenger Hunts, cross country skiing, snowmobiling, biking, horseback riding, fishing, hunting, and many other memory-building pursuits.

Visit the fishing lakes, trout streams and ponds, cranberry bogs, and the rustic Cranberry Lodge. Plan a future camping excursion to our easily accessible full hookup campground. The half mile sandy beach at Lake Michigan is sure to be a favorite place to play, swim, picnic or just lounge in your beach chair with a good book and work on your tan.   Throughout the year, the club invites you to experience all four seasons of fun and adventure as you explore and play to your heart’s content with family and new friends. Exciting times await you!
